Past Key Clients

Some past projects include:
Provided onsite contract environmental compliance reporting support to a petroleum processing facility. We worked with facility environmental team to ensure annual/quarterly/monthly/upset environmental reports were prepared timely and submitted to TCEQ and EPA. Reports included emissions inventory, GHG e-GGRT, NSPS KKK/GG/NNN/Db/ OOOOa, MACT HH, MECT, emissions event, NPDES DMR, annual waste summary, and others. All work was completed within schedule and budgetary limits and no further questions were asked by agencies after report submission.
As an approved provider under the TCEQ EnviroMentors program, we assist small businesses, local governments and independent school districts to comply with environmental regulations. In one instance, we helped a Texas county resolve Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) exceedances in their drinking water system. After some research, we suggested maintenance on their reverse osmosis system which, when completed, resolved the cause of the TDS exceedances and prevented an Agency violation.
The Merox process requires an alkaline environment which is provided by an aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide (NaOH), a strong base, commonly referred to as caustic. The spent caustic was hazardous waste and cost over $500,000 annually to manage. After material testing, we identified a papermill near Port Arthur, TX that could use the spent caustic as a suitable feedstock substitute. This eliminated the need to classify the spent caustic as hazwaste and reduced waste stream management cost by 80%. That year, the facility achieved its hazardous waste reduction goal set forth in their pollution prevention plan and earned an "Environmental Star" award from a major refining corporation.
Conducted hundreds of environmental due diligence inspections for buyers & commercial lenders in Texas. The scope of work included Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) phase I & II for commercial real estate, oil & gas operations, and agricultural activities (e.g., pesticide, herbicide, etc.) in accordance with ASTM Standard E1527, E1903, and AAI 40 CFR Part 312. We helped clients timely and cost-effectively eliminate their environmental liabilities prior to property transactions.
For a major petroleum corporation, successfully implemented a comprehensive environmental management system to document, analyze, track, organize and enable efficient reporting of environmental data. We worked with field personnel to identify their pain points; met with a software vendor to develop a pilot system for the site which, after refinement, was implemented at domestic and international locations. By efficiently managing environmental data, environmental risk and cost were significantly reduced.
For a major petroleum corporation's Permian Basin operations, successfully completed over 1,000 process emissions simulations by using ProMax. We built emissions models to update and accurately predict air emissions from new and existing oil and gas facilities, and evaluate air permits. We used ProMax software to accurately quantify volatile organic compounds (VOCs), HAPs, and Greenhouse Gas emissions from control devices, such as flares, vapor combustion units, and thermal oxidizers. This enabled many air permits to be downgraded, which reduced compliance requirements and costs by approximately 40%.
A major petroleum corporation was inspected by TCEQ and asked to provide a copy of NOI, SWPPP, and recent NPDES Inspections for a new project. However, the corporation did not have an active NOI or SWPPP for the project, and no one was doing the inspections. Within 48 hours, we collaborated with the environmental team, created the NOI and SWPPP, and initiated the weekly and rain inspections to achieve compliance. As a result of our expedited actions, the company avoided a fine from TCEQ.
